Has anyone managed to get their credit card debt extinguished?

I have had a company recommended that looks at the nature of the original agreements and whether there have been any breaches due to incorrect charges etc. They claim a success rate near 80% which would be impressive if true. However, the cost for the service is not cheap and quite a bit has to be paid up front, though they promise to repay the greater part if the have no success.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience and can tell me how they fared.

soory this sounds like a scam, the best thing you can do is start paying the mminimum atleast everymonth and then start chunking down the debt with the highest interest. To make yourself better and give you a good boost oof spirit, take a credit card with a small balance and pay it off, that will recharge you to keep paying and chunking out the higher interest card. Pull your credit reports and report any mis-information and account that arent yours.

take the money you would have paid that company and pay it to credit cards

if you are a smart person you must have heard" if seems to good to true it probably isn't" you can not erase factual credit information no matter what they tell you

I would be wary of a company that wants substantial amounts of money of front for services not rendered. Try goggling the name of the company and add the word scam and see what you get.

Filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the only way to 100% extinguish credit card debt.

There is a way to maybe settle debt for 40 – 60 cents on the dollar…This is a risky tactic of deliberately defaulting on your credit cards and trying to settle. If you are current on your accounts, this process will ruin your credit rating for sure. Debt settlement is like a roll off the dice with your finances…You can never predict how your creditors will respond to the deliberate defaulting of your accounts…they might settle at 50%…or they might serve you a summons, take you to court…and if they win, you could be looking at wage garnishment.

I haven't heard of anything like this but I'm guessing if people are trying to clear their debts then they won't have money to pay out for this service.
I wrote to the credit card companies I have debt with and explained I was struggling and have arranged repayment plans with frozen interest for them all. I even had one chopped in half if I would make 4 consecutive payments of X amount, So that was one cleared in 4 months. x

It is true. Lots of companies advertise their services, they all use solicitors so it is not a scam. I used http://www.bdebtfree.info to find me the cheapest company, it was around £295 for the first card and £195 for the others, Dont pay a penny more than that. They are successful because credit card companies settle out of court because they are frightened of the publicity when they lose a court case.

Your credit card terms have one little clause in there:
they can change at any time for any reason.

With that said… there is little that this company will be able to find that is disputable. Trust me.
Most likely they will take your upfront fee and use it up in fruitless attempts to get your credit card company to budge.

Nowadays the credit card companies don't bother with this game.
Become delinquent and they sell your debt to a collection agency and/or drag you straight to court for a judgement so that they can garnish your bank accounts and wages.

And there is absolutely nothing that can be done. The debt consolidator or whatever they call themselves has no power and can not tell your credit card company what to do.

The fact that they want an upfront fee before they ever show any results… sounds very much like a SCAM.

Before you go any further with this:

Run a search on debt consolidation scams on google or yahoo.
Here is one that talks about this scam:

I just paid mine off after my first husband left me with 15k of debt in '79 for items he shipped to India. It took getting a roommate and living frugally for several years but I did it.
